The Elmaghraby Best Student Paper Award

The ILS advisory committee proudly announces the 1st Professor Salah E. Elmaghraby’s Best Student Paper Award, to be presented at the ILS 2010 conference in Casablanca, Morocco, in April, 14-16 2010. Professor Salah E. Elmaghraby has inspired so many researchers and impacted positively and deeply their work. This Award is a tribute to him and to his acknowledged and remarkable contributions to the Production and Operations Research fields.

The purpose of the Elmaghraby Best Student Paper Award is to reward excellence in scientific work done by doctoral candidates and to encourage a high standard of scientific communication. The award is the ILS’ form of recognition and encouragement of student effort.

The ILS PhD Student Competition Committee is seeking new perspectives and fresh ideas on research topics that address issues that fit within the scope of the ILS conference theme and concerns. Doctoral Students from around the world are invited to submit research papers that report upon their achievements.

The Competition aims at giving students the opportunity to share their research ideas and results in a special ILS forum that provides visibility for their work. The students will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with ILS attendees to share ideas, gain new insights, and understand possible practical applications. The ILS Competition Committee shall provide detailed feedback to students about their research papers and presentations, and shall recognize and reward outstanding students.

Papers will be judged based on their contribution towards the advancement of theory and practice of Operations and Production Management, Supply chain management, Logistics and Information Systems.

The winner of the best student paper will receive €1000 and a certificate. At most two “runner up’s” shall receive Certificates of Honourable Mention.
